Bewusstsein und Bewegung in der Gegenwart
KUNSTVEREIN MITWELT

Tanzsaal Tegel – Mitwelt Laboratory for Art and the Present is a space for contemporary art, performative practice, and spatial experimentation in the north of Berlin.
As a project of Kunstverein Mitwelt e.V., it connects artistic research with social dialogue and cultural education.
At its core is the laboratory as method: an open process space in which art, architecture, and the public are set in motion.
Building on the resonance of the “Volcano Laboratory,” by artist and initiator Valeska Peschke Tanzsaal Tegel develops new formats that make transformation sensorially tangible.
Tanzsaal Tegel – Mitwelt Laboratory for Art and the Present
A place for art, movement, and new forms of coming together.
Here, space is not simply used, but collectively activated in a dialogue and unfolded.
Projects emerge that connect art, society, and everyday life.
What happens when art is not only observed, but experienced?
When a space is in constant transformation—through people, ideas, and movement?
Tanzsaal Tegel is becoming a non-profit space where exactly this takes place.
How is space produced?
Through artistic intervention, sound, bodies, and encounter.
How is it temporarily transformed?
Through performances, installations, and open processes that continuously evolve and create atmosphere.
What kind of aesthetic practice underlies this?
A practice that understands art as a form of relation—between people, materials, and environment.
MITWELT
WHAT IS MITWELT?
A way of thinking in relations: from environment to co-existence.
Art as a mode of practice within a shifting social fabric.
Mitwelt means: we are part of the world we shape.
Kunstverein Mitwelt develops formats where art, research, and the public come together.
Tanzsaal Tegel becomes a laboratory for the present—a place to test new forms of thinking and acting.
Art is a practice of transformation.
Mitwelt as an artistic and social model of thought. Mitwelt is not a fixed state but a shifting space between practice, perception and relation.
CONCEPT IN BRIEF
Art is a form of relational practice, not only an object.
Cooperation replaces mere participation with shared responsibility and expertise.

NEWS
The Kunstverein is currently developing first formats in the Tanzsaal in Berlin-Tegel. These emerge as open laboratory processes between artistic practice, dialogue and spatial intervention.
Entry point for local communities, artists and partners. The Kunstverein Mitwelt understands itself as an open structure in development. We invite cooperation, participation and the co-development of formats.
